A throng of more than 2,900 golfers from 47 states and 18 countries has descended upon The Golf Capital of the World® this weekend, in preparation for the 42nd Annual Play Golf Myrtle Beach World Amateur Championship! Arriving competitors were fired up for an exceptional week of camaraderie, revelry and great golf, in anticipation of teeing it up for first-round action Monday at the largest, most fun and most valuable golf tournament on the planet.

The 42nd Annual Play Golf Myrtle Beach World Amateur Championship kicks off this weekend with player registration at the PGA TOUR Superstore location in Myrtle Beach. What can participants expect this year? Let’s break it down by the numbers!

Registration is officially open, for your chance to join two of the top figures in YouTube golf in their return to “The Golf Capital of the World!” The 2nd Annual Bryan Bros Shootout, hosted by Play Golf Myrtle Beach and featuring star golf content creators Wesley and George Bryan, is set for Saturday, Nov. 8 at Grande Dunes Resort Course in Myrtle Beach.

Be ready to secure your spot next Wednesday, Aug. 20, to join two of the top figures in YouTube golf in their return to “The Golf Capital of the World!” The 2nd Annual Bryan Bros Shootout, hosted by Play Golf Myrtle Beach and featuring star golf content creators Wesley and George Bryan, is set for Saturday, Nov. 8 at Grande Dunes Resort Course in Myrtle Beach.

The 2025 Myrtle Beach World Amateur is more than a tournament: it’s a celebration of golf, camaraderie, and unforgettable evenings. After each round, the party moves to the “World’s Largest 19th Hole” at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, where nightly entertainment sets the tone for fun and relaxation.

The PGA TOUR’S ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic will again be played in early May in 2026, with the competition dates set for May 7-10 at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club. The field size for the coming year will be slightly smaller, with 120 players competing, 12 fewer than in the past two years. Ryan Fox captured the 2025 Classic with a dramatic chip-in to win a three-way playoff over Harry Higgs and Mackenzie Hughes.

The 28^th Annual Family Golf Week wrapped up Saturday with final-round action teeing it up at Barefoot-Fazio and seven additional award-winning designs throughout the Myrtle Beach area, and flight winners and National Champions crowned at the awards presentations at Barefoot Resort & Golf.
