The Short Par 4 Fall Classic kicked off its sixth consecutive sellout event Monday, with participants from around the nation taking part in a four-day competition that offers particular appeal to visitors whose home golf seasons have already ended.

The team at Family Golf Week wanted to surprise Rob Barto, part of the 2019 Parent & Child Team Classic winning duo, as he celebrated his birthday recently in Florida. Coordinating with daughter Tessa Barto, the team greeted Rob with gifts for his birthday, along with a special prize to enable Rob and Tessa to return to the Grand Strand in 2020 to defend their crown.
