More than 860 military veterans and their guests from around the U.S. and beyond have descended upon the Grand Strand golf scene this week for four days of competition and camaraderie at the 2023 GOLFBUDDY Veterans Classic in Myrtle Beach.

On the heels of last week’s announcement of the Grand Strand as Tripadvisor users’ top U.S. choice of summer 2023 beach destinations, U.S. News & World Report has now weighed in with its list of the “Best Places to Live in the U.S. in 2023-2024,” with Myrtle Beach ranking 18th among the nation’s 150 most populous metropolitan areas.

City of Myrtle Beach, Horry County, State of South Carolina and PGA TOUR officials were on hand Wednesday at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club to formally announce the renowned Robert Trent Jones design as host of the first-ever PGA TOUR event on the Grand Strand: the 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic.
