The Gene Hamm-designed Burning Ridge Golf Club takes pride in offering a balanced test for every type of golfer, rewarding smart course management while remaining approachable for higher handicaps. To the second point it presents its share of difficulty, and Burning Ridge General Manager and Head Golf Professional Eddie Overstreet is here to offer his thoughts on its three most challenging holes.
By increasing level of difficulty, Overstreet cites:

No. 4 – “This is a shorter par 4 but has trouble that sneaks in from almost every angle,” says Overstreet. “Theres’s water the entire length of the hole to the right side. Then there’s mounding on the left side that can send a mishit ball into the penalty are on that side the hole. Once you get to the green it’s not much easier. The green is protected by two deep bunkers directly in front of the green.”

No. 17 – This par 3 is not quite as long as long as Overstreet’s top choice for difficult holes, but as Overstreet explains “it can play just as tough due to a unique shaped green protected by a deep front bunker. There is also water short and right of the green.”

No. 12 – “This is a very challenging par 3,” says Overstreet. “Depending on what tee you choose it can play up to 245 yards. After a tough tee shot the green is also very challenging with a lot of undulation. Water also runs the full length of the hole and wraps around the right side of the green.”
