It made a splash when it first entered this list in 2024, and heading into the third edition of the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic the Grand Strand’s host venue for this 2026 PGA TOUR event, The Dunes Golf & Beach Club, once more remains among Golfweek’s top picks of courses chosen to host the sport’s elite in TOUR competition.
The Dunes Club comes in as Golfweek’s 17th-rated course among the 36 in the U.S. that will host PGA TOUR events this year.
The renowned Robert Trent Jones design first appeared on this list two years ago in advance of its much-anticipated debut on the TOUR stage, coming off a decades-long run as an ongoing host of numerous USGA and PGA TOUR Champions events that have included the U.S. Women’s Open (1962) and the Senior PGA Tour Championship (1994-1999).
Golf Digest writers Stephen Hennessey and Drew Powell once more compiled the data from evaluations from its 1,800 course-ranking panelists used to calculate their most recent national and state rankings to determine what are, objectively, the best courses on the PGA TOUR.
The ranking combines the scores of the 36 courses part of the 50 states in the United States that will host PGA TOUR events in 2026 (excluding the international events in Canada, Scotland, England, Japan, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Bermuda). Golfweek’s 2026 list also includes new events at courses that haven’t previously hosted PGA TOUR events, like The Cliffs at Walnut Cove in Asheville, N.C., and Omni Barton Creek in Austin.
The Dunes Club’s No. 17 position this year comes in just ahead of Trump National Doral (host of the Cadillac Championship) and one slot behind PGA West’s Stadium Course (host of The American Express).
