Myrtle Beach Golf Industry Leader Bob Seganti Earns Prestigious National Honor

Bob Seganti, General Manager of Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, True Blue Golf Club and Caledonia Golf Vacations, has been honored by the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) as its 2024 recipient of their Paul Porter Award – established to recognize an NGCOA member who has left an enduring mark on a national or international affiliate through the highest level of commitment, service, and leadership.

The NGCOA delivered the following message in sharing this news with its membership ranks:

Industry leaders who have worked with Bob line up to sing his praises as a friend and mentor whose spirit and passion for the betterment of the golf industry are unmatched. He’s described as a humble, gracious, and instrumental leader who is passionate about his thoughts and ideas, but always seeks input and feedback from everyone he works with. And he is lauded for his sense of humor and empathetic nature that always lends itself to a positive collaborative environment.

During his tenure as president of the Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owners Association, and as a board member of the South Carolina Golf Course Owners Association, Bob has spearheaded initiatives to increase community engagements and unify stakeholders, in turn elevating standards and innovation within the golf industry locally, statewide, and nationally.

One colleague appropriately noted that NGCOA’s Paul Porter Award winner embodies what it means to be a golf course operator, PGA professional, general manager, marketplace leader, and mentor, bringing a steadfast belief in traditional service, a keen attention to detail, and an unwavering view of the big picture to each role.

The Paul Porter Award was established to recognize an NGCOA member who has left an enduring mark on a national or international affiliate through the highest level of commitment, service, and leadership. And his colleagues agree that there is no better example of what the Paul Porter Award represents than Bob Seganti – their friend, and a great friend of the game of golf.

Fellow golf industry leaders from the Myrtle Beach area and the Palmetto State joined in offering high praise for Bob. Said Matt Daly, Director of Golf Operations, Founders Group International (owner/operator of 21 Myrtle Beach-area golf courses), “Bob, just want to congratulate you on winning this year’s Paul Porter Award.
