It’s been another glorious weather week for golf along the Grand Strand, and the Play Golf Myrtle Beach team kept busy at a number of its multicourse venues. Jim Maggio followed up his earlier-week visit to the renovated back nine at King’s North by checking out another popular back nine at the Parkland Course at Legends Resort, while David Williams stopped by the Love Course at Barefoot Resort & Golf. Play Golf Myrtle Beach has teamed up with Aaron Chewning, the co-founder of St. Andre Golf, to launch a fresh and innovative video series, “Course Cases with Aaron Chewning.” In Episode 10, Aaron stays on the South Strand to enter the den to complete the second leg of his Mike Strantz Lowcountry experience, taking on all 18 holes of Caledonia Golf & Fish Club!

With its back nine renovations now complete, the comprehensive reimagination of Arnold Palmer’s gem at King’s North at Myrtle Beach National has officially come full circle to cap a two-year effort.

Visually striking changes run throughout the back nine, highlighted by the new “SC” greenside bunkering at No. 12 and a complete overhaul of the par-4 18^th, which formerly sported a staggering 40 bunkers from tee to green but now features a notable reconfiguration.

Fewer than 100 spots are still available for golfers of all skill levels as the 12^th annual Style Driver Fall Classic returns to the Golf Capital of the World® Nov. 17-20, welcoming 700 players of all skill levels to 22 of the best golf courses along the Grand Strand. Golfers will compete over 72 holes with a different format each day. At the end of the week, a lunch will be held for all participants at their host course with the top three finishers in all three flights receiving prizes. There will also be randomly drawn prizes at the luncheon.

Thistle Golf Club has completed renovations work on its MacKay nine and is open for fall play, following summer work to restore its greens to their original configuration and replace some key bridge passageways throughout the renowned track.
