But the World Am is, after all, a golf tournament and at the 19th Hole’s core is its golf expo, which allows players to see, test and purchase products from new and established brands, all of whom like to showcase their product to the game’s most avid and loyal players.
The expo at the World Am is expected to attract upwards of 60 exhibitors. Leading a varied list of companies already committed to the event are Ecco, Bobby Grace Putters, Ace Indoor Golf, HIRZL, Nexbelt and UST Mamiya, among many others.
From indoor golf simulators and putting aids, to customizable driver tape and the Myrtle Beach Caddy Girls, the exhibitor list is as diverse as the World Am’s participant list.
The 32nd annual World Am will be played Aug. 31-Sept. 4 and is expected to attract 3,400 golfers from more than 30 countries to Myrtle Beach. Players are placed into one of five divisions, based on age and gender, and then placed in tightly bunched flights based on their verifiable USGA handicap.
Participants play 72 holes of competitive golf and all flight winners and ties will then advance to the Flight Winner’s Playoff at Barefoot Resort’s Dye Club where a world champion is crowned.
More than 60 Myrtle Beach golf courses host the event, including 10 that have been ranked among the nation’s top 100 public courses in recent years and more than 40 that have earned at least 4 stars from Golf Digest.
