Two of the Myrtle Beach area’s elite designs, The Dunes Golf & Beach Club and Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, maintained their status as among “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses” for 2021-2022 as named by Golf Digest, which also honored these mainstays and The Dye Course at Barefoot Resort, True Blue Golf Club and TPC Myrtle Beach as among “The Best Golf Courses in South Carolina.”

Myrtle Beach is home to some of the best public golf in America – having 13 courses that have been ranked among the nation’s top 100 public courses is proof positive – but what makes the destination equally attractive is the depth of its golf course offerings. With that in mind, we present here some of Myrtle Beach’s most underrated golf courses. These are layouts that have never been ranked among America’s top 100 public courses, but are, nonetheless, superior designs.

With four golfers combining to go 18-under par in the final round of men’s play at the Golfweek Fall Challenge, Delaware (-30) mounted a furious rally to overtake Mercer by one stroke and join the Campbell women’s team as 2021 event champions.

Mercer University matched Sunday’s strong play in the men’s division in Monday’s Round 2, while Campbell University was one of two women’s teams to break par today as each strengthened their respective leads at the 2021 Golfweek Fall Challenge at True Blue Golf Club and Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.

Mercer University has raced out to an early eight-stroke lead in the men’s competition at True Blue Golf Club, while Campbell University is five shots clear of the field in the women’s division at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club after first-round play of the 2021 Golfweek Fall Challenge.
