Two of the top designs in The Golf Capital of the World® have once more gained a seat at the national table, with Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and The Dunes Golf & Fish Club among Golfweek’s Best 2026 list of the Top 100 Best Courses You Can Play in the U.S.

On a list topped by such nationally familiar names as Pebble Beach, Bandon Dunes, Pinehurst and Whistling Straits, Caledonia enters the 2026 ranking at No. 81 while The Dunes Club comes in next at T82.

Our weekly photo stop in The Golf Capital of the World® took us last week to Pawleys Island, where the Ron Garl signature layout at Tradition Golf Club took its turn in the spotlight. Play Golf Myrtle Beach’s Jim Maggio made an early-morning stop there last week and captured an assortment of aerial images along its front nine.

We asked Dan Miller, Head Golf Professional at Rivers Edge, to weigh in with his selections of the trio of holes he’d cite as especially photogenic from the spectacular landscape presented at his home course. Considering the plentiful options this riverside setting provides, Miller zeroed in on one particular stretch of holes.
