Though certainly cooler this past week compared to recent weeks, we saw tons of action on golf courses across the Myrtle Beach area! The late Pete Dye is an iconic figure in architecture circles and while his brother, P.B. Dye, doesn’t enjoy the same acclaim, he has designed more than a few memorable tracks. Between the two, they each have a solo Myrtle Beach course to their credit and they co-designed one of the area’s most popular layouts.

These past two weeks, David Williams visited World Tour, Jim Maggio stopped at Burning Ridge and Rob Spallone captured images at Sandpiper Bay and the Jones and Byrd courses at Sea Trail. Sixty of the top junior players from Ontario, Canada made the Grand Strand their golfing home this week as they competed at River Hills Golf & Country Club in the inaugural Ontario Junior Players Invitational presented by PlayGolfMyrtleBeach.com.

Paced by a final-round score of 69 and first-place individual finish by Mats Ege, East Tennessee State (-24) notched a six-stroke victory over Virginia to win the 2023 General Hackler Championship Tuesday at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.

Round 2 of the 2023 World Am Q School teed off Tuesday in Myrtle Beach with more than 400 players from 34 states, Canada and Mexico in great spirits in their quest for their share of $10,000 in prizes.

More than 400 golfers from 34 states, Canada and Mexico have descended upon the Grand Strand this week in their quest for more than $10,000 in prizes as they compete in the 2023 World Am Q School at 12 Myrtle Beach-area courses.
