You don’t have to fly to Scotland to experience rolling fairways – you can experience similarly remarkable terrain on the Highlands Nine at Aberdeen Country Club. Catch the wind just right, and you could play the Meadows Nine with just your driver and putter.

What makes Arrowhead Country Club unique? We asked Head Golf Professional, Jake Benton, that question. Answers below ⬇️
1. Every October Arrowhead overseeds its golf course “wall to wall,” keeping the entirety of the course green year-round. “While this is a big investment, we believe this gives the customer the best playing conditions and visuals,” says Benton. “In the spring when the overseed pops, it is absolutely beautiful.” This bears out in many of Arrowhead’s customer reviews, which consistent laud the layout for its excellent conditioning.
2. As Benton points out, having 27 holes on property provides a unique experience in two ways. “Each year golfers return they may get the opportunity to see a different setup,” Benton explains, adding that the additional benefit of “having 27 holes is also excellent for groups looking to play 27 in one day, getting a fresh look for their replay.”
3. No matter which rotation of nines you play in your 18, your round is sure to include a scenic view of the Intracoastal Waterway. “We are blessed with Waterway views on both the Waterway and Cypress nines,” says Benton, “and they make for beautiful backdrops as you play.” ...

Everyone knows Myrt for golf.
The tee times. The shortcuts. The local secrets.
But before he became the unofficial mayor of Myrtle Beach golf, he was briefly—and completely by accident—a fishing legend.
On June 3, 1987, Myrt hopped aboard a boat called Click Bait with a sandwich, two cold beers, and a tee time later that afternoon.
Three miles offshore, he told the captain, “No need to go farther. Got a feeling.”
At 8:17 AM, something hammered his line.
Forty-two minutes later, they landed what became the largest flounder ever caught off the South Carolina coast: 22 pounds, 5 ounces.
Flat as a welcome mat.
Wide as a screen door.
The size, according to the newspaper the next morning, of “an El Camino.”
By noon, the fish was on ice.
By 1:30, Myrt made his tee time.
By 4:45, he was back to giving golf advice.
Today, if you ask him about the record catch, he’ll just shrug and say:
“Biggest thing I ever caught was a 10:42 at Dunes Club for a guy who called me at breakfast.”
Need help planning golf? Fishing?
Golf AND fishing?
Call Myrt.
Local knowledge. Local connections. Local legend.
